Communal Composition began as an idea for an engagement party.  A diary on canvas of the joyful, shared moments with friends and family.  I loved the idea of putting a blank canvas in front of a group and creating something memorable and beautiful.  It was an idea that I wanted to expand upon after retiring with 30-plus years in corporate America.

I think that now, more than ever, there is an interest and a need for connection and fun.  Art is emotional and we all need a good laugh.  The act of abstract painting is freeing, bold and true — never wrong.

In preparation for the launch of this project, I have taken abstract painting classes at the NY School of the Arts, after having been a hobby figurative drawer for 15 years.  I have a BS from the University of Wisconsin system.

The plan is to be available to paint with groups, large or intimate. Perfect for family gatherings, fundraisers, corporate team-building, engagement parties, openings, birthday parties and more.
